Dear ASEAN Universities,
We are pleased to invite your students to register for our Southeast Asian Global Undergraduate Leaders’ (SEAGULL) Programme 2017.
SEAGULL is designed to develop a cohort of well-connected young leaders for the Southeast Asian region. The programme aims to develop participants’ capacity to be societal leaders by providing them with high-level analytical skills, exclusive opportunities to speak with inspiring leaders and a chance to exercise those insights meaningfully with actionable consultancy projects for important causes.
We have had two highly successful runs for the SEAGULL programme – our SEAGULL 2015 and 2016 graduates have formed a strong network of young leaders who continue to make change and aspire to do more.
The 2017 SEAGULL programme will train a new cohort of student leaders who will gain insights on Southeast Asian issues, develop a deeper understanding of the work and challenges of social impact organisations, and also learn how they can be the next change maker.
SEAGULL 2017 will be a 7-month-long programme, split into two immersions.
|Immersion 1||Singapore||January 15th – 22nd|
|Online discussions In Home Countries||February – July|
|Immersion 2||Bangkok, Thailand||July 16th – 23rd|
Immersion 1 will focus on knowledge acquisition, to help undergraduates understand the meaning of Societal Leadership and the value it plays within Southeast Asia. Students will meet cross-sectoral societal leaders who will share their experiences, especially on how to manage societal complexities.
In between both immersions, students will take part in several online discussions, which will take them through an experiential learning of design-thinking tools and methodologies. This will help in the application work the students will embark on in Immersion 2.
In Immersion 2, students will be able to apply their Design Thinking knowledge to solve existing social issues. The intensive week-long exercise will immerse and challenge students in critical thinking, and hone their communication skills as they interact with societal leaders to understand issues, carry out methodological consultation and propose solutions.
It would be our privilege to host the next group of students from your university.
